Samsung Electronics is making 19 contemporary artworks shown at Art Basel Paris 2026 available for viewing on its televisions.
The company said on the 20th that it is taking part in Art Basel Paris as the official display partner. The fair runs from the 20th to the 25th at the Grand Palais in Paris. Samsung has released the 19 featured works on Samsung Art Store, a subscription art service for its TVs.
The collection features contemporary works that reinterpret everyday subjects in original ways. "Poppies #4" by Georgian painter Elene Shatberashvili depicts a still life in vivid colors. "The Lounge," an installation by Belgian artist Hans Op de Beeck, renders an interior space in shades of gray, creating an atmosphere in which time appears to have stopped.
Samsung said it used 4K resolution and anti-reflection technology that reduces glare to reproduce the colors and textures of the works. The pieces can be viewed on The Frame, Micro RGB and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) televisions.
Samsung Art Store is available in more than 117 countries and offers about 5,000 works from well-known museums and artists. Samsung has been showcasing exhibited works through partnerships with Art Basel events in Hong Kong, Basel, Paris and Miami Beach.
