By 5pm, there hadn't been much rain in Mallorca, despite alerts having been in place for the south and east from noon. Elsewhere they were from 6pm; those for rain and thunderstorms in the south and east were upgraded from yellow to amber from 6pm. In Ibiza, where a red alert was issued for a time, 121 litres per square metre of rain fell at the airport; in Formentera (also on red alert) there were 122.
On Monday, the warnings are amber for the whole of the island from midnight Sunday to 12 noon and then yellow for the rest of the day - up to 40 litres of rainfall per square metre in one hour. Yellow alerts for the Tramuntana and north/northeast coasts are effective from midnight to 7am on Monday - waves of three metres and gusts up to 60 km/h.
The breezes are due to be from the south on Monday and so there could be some quite high temperatures caused by warm air from north Africa being pushed in.
There are yellow alerts for Tuesday. These apply to the whole island from midnight Monday to 12 noon - up to 30 litres per square metre.
The outlook for the week currently points to reasonable weather from Wednesday to Friday, with rain again a possible factor next weekend.
