MW4 has been fully released by Infinity Ward, offering a reimagined Call of Duty experience with more realistic gunplay than ever, new movement options, and a continuation of the Modern Warfare storyline.
Infinity Ward is taking the series to the Korean Peninsula as North Korea launches an invasion of the south, and a young squad of soldiers fights to survive.
Alongside the campaign, the game will have a fresh take on multiplayer, inspired by lessons from recent Modern Warfare games, and a new DMZ mode, which promises to be the height of extraction-shooter gameplay.
But will you get to experience these modes via Xbox Game Pass? Here is what we know about the game's release.
MW4 on Xbox Game Pass Explained
MW4 will not release be on Game Pass until 12 months after launch. This makes it the first Call of Duty game since Black Ops 6 not to be included in the subscription. Instead, the game will be added to the service in the following year, likely around late October 2027.
This comes after Microsoft's bet on including Call of Duty games in the service hasn't paid off to the degree they had hoped. As such, back in April, they reduced the price of the subscription for Ultimate and PC. But this came at the cost of removing future Call of Duty games from the service.
Ultimately, this does mean you will need to purchase the game in order to play. You can find a detailed rundown of your pre-order options here.
