The Bangladesh Public University Public Relations Association today formed a new 25-member executive committee for the 2027–2028 two-year term, naming Mohammad Mahiuddin president and Md Shamsul Alam Shibli general secretary.
Mohammad Mahiuddin, acting director of the Public Relations Office at Jahangirnagar University, was named president, and Md Shamsul Alam Shibli, deputy director of the Public Relations and Press Publication Office at Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, was elected general secretary.
The association formed the committee at its annual general meeting held at Jahangirnagar University on 16 October 2026, with invitees from public university public relations offices nationwide.
The other office-bearers of the newly formed executive committee are Senior Vice-President Rafiqul Islam Panna of the University of Dhaka, Vice-Presidents Mohammad Ali of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur and Md Nazrul Islam of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Joint General Secretaries Khalilur Rahman of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and Md Saiful Islam of Jagannath University, Treasurer Md Babul Hossain Babu of Pabna University of Science and Technology, Organising Secretary Mohammad Al-Amin Khan of Bangladesh Open University, Office Secretary Farhad Rahman Sarkar of Jahangirnagar University, Publicity and Publication Secretary Md Salman Sadekin Chayan of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Social Welfare Secretary Mostaq Jahan of Bangladesh University of Professionals, and Sports Secretary Muhammad Rashedul Islam of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology.
The executive members of the committee are Agriculturist Din Mohammad Dinu of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Md Bashirul Islam of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Golam Mortuza of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, Kamrun Nahar of Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology, Khademul Islam of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Md Shahedul Hasan of Islamic University, Khandaker Moazzem Hossain. The association's outgoing president, Md Abul Kashem Shikdar, chaired the meeting, where the new committee was announced by unanimous consent. The Bangladesh Public University Public Relations Association was launched in 2020 and comprises officials from the public relations offices of public universities nationwide.
