Yango has corrected its statement on driver earnings in Windhoek after previously saying its drivers earn N$15 470 a week.
The company now says it had meant to present the sum as monthly earnings and not weekly earnings.
In a clarification sent to The Namibian, the company says the error appeared in its statement to The Namibian issued on 16 October.
“The intended figure is N$15 470 per month, after deduction of the service commission and not per week as stated in the statement,” Yango says.
The company apologises for the confusion caused by the initial statement, adding that it remains committed to providing accurate and transparent information to the media and the public.
The correction follows a report in which Yango’s initial statement to The Namibian indicated that drivers operating under its economy tariff earned an average of N$15 470 per week after service commission deductions.
