Dale Earnhardt holds the record for the most wins at Talladega. He won 10 NASCAR Cup Series races at Talladega Superspeedway, four more than anyone else.
Earnhardt, a seven-time Cup champion and one of the biggest names in motorsports, also led 1,377 laps at the Alabama track. That is the most of any driver. Buddy Baker ranks second with 1,137.
Three drivers share second place on the wins list with six each: Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Brad Keselowski.
Baker is part of a three-way tie at four wins with Bobby Allison and Darrell Waltrip. Five drivers have three: Davey Allison, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano.
Earnhardt’s run at Talladega spanned 17 years. He scored his first win there on July 31, 1983, with a last-lap pass on Waltrip.
His last Talladega win came on Oct. 15, 2000. He was 18th with five laps to go and still beat Kenny Wallace to the line. It turned out to be the final Cup win of his career.
His July 1993 win was one of the closest in track history. He beat Ernie Irvan by 0.005 seconds, according to Jayski.
Earnhardt Jr. owns a different Talladega record. He won four straight races there, starting in October 2001 and ending in April 2003. His sixth and final Talladega win came in May 2015, when he led the last 27 laps.
Keselowski has the most Talladega wins among active drivers. His first career Cup win came there in April 2009. He will leave RFK Racing after this season, so Sunday’s race will be his last superspeedway start with RFK Racing.
Blaney and Logano sit next among active drivers with three. Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. each have two, according to Jayski. The late Kyle Busch also won twice at Talladega.
The two most recent Talladega winners each have one. Carson Hocevar won the April race for his first career Cup victory.
Chase Briscoe won the October 2025 race in overtime. That win sent him to the Championship 4.
Talladega has also produced the closest finish since electronic scoring began. Jimmie Johnson beat Clint Bowyer by 0.002 seconds there in April 2011, according to Jayski.
The track also holds its own record for lead changes in a race, with 88 in both April 2010 and April 2011.
The Cup Series returns to Talladega for the YellaWood 500 on Sunday, Oct. 25.
