The Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 6 opponents, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, saw one of their defensive stars miss practice ahead of Sunday's matchup.
Courtesy of the initial Week 6 practice report, the Buccaneers saw standout safety Antoine Winfield Jr. miss Wednesday's session with a rib injury. The Steelers also saw a few defensive starters miss practice, but a few were non-injury-related.

Winfield suffered a rib injury and was forced to miss Tampa Bay's Week 5 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Head coach Todd Bowles said Winfield could be out two to four weeks after suffering the setback. As expected, the veteran safety was once again unable to practice on Wednesday ahead of the Buccaneers' game against Pittsburgh and should be viewed as doubtful to play in Week 6.
Drafted by the Buccaneers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Winfield has appeared in 89 games, recording 534 tackles, 18 sacks, nine interceptions, and 12 forced fumbles. Winfield also earned First-Team All-Pro recognition in 2023.
With Winfield expected to miss, Ifeatu Melifonwu will serve as the starting safety opposite Tykee Smith. Pittsburgh's now high-powered offense should, in theory, find tremendous success against this injury-ridden Tampa Bay secondary.
