An incident was reported from Garopara in East Boragaon, Guwahati, in the early hours of the night following Bijoya Dashami, after a family was allegedly attacked by three men following a dispute.
According to reports, Raju Thapa and his two sons, Man Bahadur Thapa and Krishna Thapa, were allegedly creating a disturbance outside the residence of Prafulla Talukdar around 3 am. The loud arguments and commotion reportedly prompted Prafulla Talukdar’s son, Bidyut Talukdar, to intervene and ask them to stop.
However, the situation allegedly escalated, with the three men attacking Bidyut Talukdar and other members of his family. He sustained injuries in the incident and is currently undergoing medical treatment.
The family further alleged that members of the Thapa family pelted stones at their house throughout the night. The attack reportedly damaged the windowpanes of the house and a scooter parked nearby.
Following the incident, members of the family lodged a complaint at the Garigaon Police Station, seeking action against those allegedly involved.
