It’s Sheridan Sunday again! Which means Dutton Ranch fans are once again wondering if this is the week that Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s Yellowstone spin-off returns with new episodes.
Since Luke Grimes’ Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, made its highly anticipated Season 2 premiere on October 4, fans of the Sheridan-verse are even more curious about Dutton Ranch‘s Season 2 premiere date.
For those who need a refresher, back in July, Dutton Ranch Episode 9, “El Padrino,” left Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) fearing for Carter (Finn Little) after he was kidnapped by Mariano’s (Raoul Max Trujillo) cartel men. Beulah (Annette Bening) and Oreana (Natalie Alyn Lind) were in tears over the death of Rob-Will (Jai Courtney). And the series led us to believe his brother, Joaquin (Juan Pablo Raba), killed him. So what does Dutton Ranch Season 2 have in store?
When is Dutton Ranch Season 2’s release date? Where can you stream Dutton Ranch? Is Dutton Ranch on tonight, Sunday, October 18? What time is Marshals on tonight? And will there be a Dutton Ranch and Marshals crossover? Here’s everything we know about Dutton Ranch Season 2 (and Marshals Season 2).
Is Dutton Ranch On Tonight (10/18/26)?
Sadly, no. But a new episode of Sheridan’s other Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, airs on CBS tonight at around 8:30 p.m. ET. Start time may vary depending on when the earlier NFL games airing on CBS end. But new episodes of Marshals will also be available for next-day streaming on Paramount+.
Is Dutton Ranch Going To Have A Season 2? Is Dutton Ranch Canceled Or Renewed for Season 2?
On Wednesday, June 24, ahead of Dutton Ranch Episode 8, Paramount+ officially renewed the series for Season 2! And it’s no surprise! The series has a Certified Fresh 90% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and according to a Paramount+ press release, “Dutton Ranch cemented itself as a smash-hit by amassing 12.9 million viewers globally in the 7 days following its premiere — marking the biggest Original Series launch in Paramount+ history. The series also delivered 2.9 million total viewers during its two-episode debut on Paramount Network on May 15, making it the biggest series premiere on cable since 2023. With 1.85 million viewers for the premiere telecast alone, Dutton Ranch also ranked as the #1 cable entertainment telecast among both adults 18-49 and total viewers.” Dang!
“Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters, while establishing its own identity,” said Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios. “Thank you to our partners at Paramount+ and 101 Studios for a phenomenal first season. We look forward to bringing fans more stories from these unforgettable characters in Season 2.”
Dutton Ranch Season 2 Release Date Info: When Does The Next Season Of Dutton Ranch Come Out?
While there’s no official Dutton Ranch Season 2 premiere date on the books yet, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that production on the sophomore season is expected to begin early next year. “We’re slated to start early 2027 to film,” Reilly told THR in July. “But the room starts up pretty quick. I think we’re going to be very much involved in the room, so the next sort of six months is all about writing it.”
Assuming production sticks to the predicted timeline, here’s hoping Dutton Ranch Season 2 will premiere in 2027 rather than 2028. Stay tuned for more updates!
Does Rip Die In Dutton Ranch? Is Cole Hauser Leaving Dutton Ranch? And Who’s Dutton Ranch‘s Showrunner?
After feud escalation rumors between Hauser and Sheridan, some fans were fearful that Cole Hauser could be leaving Dutton Ranch ahead of Season 2. While the creator and star certainly share some history, as far as we know, Rip isn’t leaving Dutton Ranch, nor is Cole Hauser! The Yellowstone spin-off was specifically written to continue Beth, Rip, and Carter’s stories — plus, Hauser is an EP on the series. So we don’t expect to say goodbye to Beth’s partner in crime any time soon.
When Dutton Ranch returns, however, it will have a new showrunner in Benjamin Cavell, who joined the team ahead of Season 2. Season 1 showrunner Chad Feehan departed from the series just three weeks before its premiere.
Marshals Season 2 Release Date: Is Marshals On Tonight (10/18/26?
While Dutton Ranch doesn’t have a Season 2 premiere date yet, Sheridan’s other Yellowstone spin-off Marshals is already back!
Marshals Season 2 premiered Sunday, October 4, 2026, on CBS, with new episodes every Sunday on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. Here’s everything to know about how to watch a new episode live tonight, Sunday, October 18, and online.
Will There Be A Dutton Ranch And Marshals Crossover?
Grimes confirmed that Beth and Rip won’t be on Marshals Season 2 this fall. But with Dutton Ranch expected to film Season 2 in 2027, there’s still hope that Kayce could appear on Marshals‘ sister series — especially recent comments about a Dutton sibling reunion from Grimes and Marshals star Ash Santos.
“It’s not out of the question that we might have some sort of crossover at some point. Beth’s basically Kayce’s only living family member other than Tate. It would make sense that down the line we’d at least talk,” Grimes told TV Insider. “[Kelly and I] texted about it back and forth a lot, talked about how it’d be fun and necessary for our story arcs, however they’re going to end.”
When DECIDER asked Santos if she’s on board for a crossover, she said, “Hopefully. It would be cool. I agree with the fans. It’s hard not to want that, especially because Kayce was so close with Beth, and they had such an interesting brother-sister dynamic. I’m like, ‘Who wouldn’t want to see that?'”
The promising comments came just months after Reilly and Hauser shared their own positive sentiments, so if you’re in line for a Marshals and Dutton Ranch crossover episode, stay in line!
