Ceragem said on the 20th that Chairman Lee adopted CEO Lee as his son last year and this year gifted him 10% of total shares outstanding, completing the first phase of the stake succession. "The chairman has long believed that for a company's long-term growth, what matters is not blood ties but a person who can grow the company based on insight into the business and management expertise," Ceragem said. "This succession is a decision that reflects the company's future and management continuity, which the founder has weighed for a long time."
CEO Lee joined Ceragem as an entry-level employee in 2003 and built his career across strategy planning, marketing, and domestic and overseas sales. In 2017, he ran a dealership himself in China's Sichuan province, accumulating field experience, and in 2019 he introduced Well Cafe, helping expand the business from spinal care medical devices into the medical home appliance market.
Chairman Lee decided on the succession after a comprehensive assessment of the CEO's management capabilities, execution, and understanding of the organization confirmed during that process. The two sides reviewed various alternatives in light of the company's independence, management continuity, and long-term governance stability, and ultimately chose succession through adult adoption.
Ceragem also plans to carry forward the values of social responsibility and sharing that it has upheld since its founding. The company has conducted a range of social contribution activities at home and abroad, including support for underprivileged children and families, donations of healthcare medical devices, community sharing programs, and projects to improve educational environments overseas. It plans to review ways to expand social contributions, focusing on areas tied to its business philosophy such as health, education, and care.
A Ceragem official said, "This succession is a decision that prepares Ceragem's future by connecting the founder's entrepreneurial spirit with the capabilities of a next-generation manager proven over more than 20 years," adding, "We will pursue sustainable growth based on stable governance and responsible management, while practicing the values of social responsibility and sharing."
