The seventh day of the 61st Myanma Gems Emporium 2026 was held at the Maniradana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, with local and foreign gem merchants inspecting jade lots displayed in designated areas outside the hall.
A total of 550 jade lots, numbered 551 to 1,100 and belonging to Groups A and B, were offered to local and foreign gem merchants through an open tender system. Of these, 463 lots were sold, according to an announcement.
Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Hsan Oo, patron of the Central Committee for the Myanma Gems Emporium, inspected the jade lots displayed in designated sections of the hall, the submission of tender forms by local and foreign gem merchants, and the announcement of successful bids. He also gave officials the necessary instructions.
On the eighth day of the emporium, local and foreign gem merchants will inspect jade lots numbered 1,101 to 1,605 from Groups A and B and submit their bids into tender boxes. The boxes will close at 5 pm, after which officials will open them and examine the bids. The results for the jade lots offered on 15 October will be announced on the same day.
The emporium, which aims to generate economic benefits for the State and the people while ensuring the systematic and sustainable management of gemstone resources, will continue until 17 October. — MNA/KZL
