Liverpool's first-team squad is nowhere near complete yet.
Last term, they finished fifth in the Premier League with the appointment of Andoni Iraola expected to take them back to their best.
And, while he may have only lost one competitive game during his time as the Reds' boss, a lot more still needs to come from Liverpool.
At the moment, they're just about scraping by with their recent win against Villarreal being extremely lucky.
Despite going 2-0 down, they ended up turning the tie on its head and beat the La Liga outfit 4-3.
However, thanks to the number of injuries they've suffered, it's unclear how long their luck in games will be able to keep up.
But, ahead of the January transfer window, plans are already being put in place for new players to join with one of the Reds' former targets now re-emerging as a potential option for them to pursue.
Castello Lukeba has re-emerged as an option for Liverpool
Castello Lukeba was one of the most sought-after centre-backs in the world a couple of years ago.
The Frenchman broke onto the scene at RB Leipzig after Ibrahima Konate and Dayot Upamecano both exited.
Somehow, the Bundesliga outfit always seem to have a supply of young French centre-backs to fit right into their plans and, to make things even weirder, they're always good.
However, due to their crazily high demands (around €90 million) a move never came to fruition and, the now 23-year-old chose to stay put and managed to further develop his skills.
But, now, for one reason or another, the defender seems to have emerged as a potential option for Liverpool again with Ekrem Konur now naming the price that Liverpool would have to pay to bring him to L4.
"Castello Lukeba is set to be on the radar of Europe’s giants next year," he wrote.
"Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are among the strongest contenders.
"The French centre‑back could be available for around €50M."
Castello Lukeba still has a lot of his career to go and could end up being great for Liverpool
Lukeba may not be a player many people have thought about recently but, the fact that he was described as an "incredible" player in the past proves how good he once was.
Not only is the Frenchman left-footed but, he's already got plenty of experience under his belt in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
Admittedly, he's be a bit of a downgrade from Virgil van Dijk and, since the Reds already have a fair few young centre-backs among their ranks, he may block their pathways.
But, for only €50 million, he's an absolute steal.
Lukeba's main position is as a centre-back but, there have been times in the past when he's been used as a left-back.
This versatility is a key part of Liverpool's recruitment at the moment and, since question marks are still hanging over the future of Ronald Araujo, a space for Lukeba could open up in the summer.
