Chainlink is now live on the Stellar network, giving developers market data to build lending markets, prediction markets and perpetual futures around an ecosystem supporting more than $4 billion in real-world assets. The October 14, 2026 launch brings its Data Feeds and Data Streams to Stellar, connecting tokenized assets with a broader set of decentralized finance applications.
Key takeaways
- Chainlink’s two data services are live on Stellar.
- Stellar’s RWA ecosystem exceeds $4 billion.
- Launch applications use oracle data for collateral, liquidations and lending calculations.
- Stellar’s Scale commitment supports cost-efficient developer access.
The Stellar Development Foundation said in a blog post that the integration removes a critical barrier to launching DeFi applications: access to reliable market data. The foundation framed the launch as a step beyond issuing assets onchain toward pricing, trading and borrowing against them.
Applications in the ecosystem are adopting the infrastructure at launch for collateral processing, loan-to-value calculations, automated liquidations and stablecoin reference rates. Those functions put the data services directly into the operation of financial markets on Stellar.
Chainlink brings new DeFi capabilities to the Stellar network
Data Feeds and Data Streams give Stellar developers the market information needed to build secure lending markets, prediction markets, perpetual futures and other onchain financial applications. Both services are now available natively on the network.
Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, described the integration as support for a wider range of financial products. “The Stellar network’s adoption of Chainlink as its data infrastructure unlocks a new generation of DeFi and tokenized asset applications across its ecosystem,” he said.
Eid also said the services provide the reliable data developers need to build and scale lending markets, stablecoins and tokenized assets. The blog post describes Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure as the same infrastructure used to secure the vast majority of DeFi, with tens of trillions of dollars in onchain transaction value enabled.
Putting Stellar’s real-world assets to work
Stellar already supports more than $4 billion in real-world assets; the integration supplies data infrastructure to help those assets become tradable instruments and collateral. The blog post identifies stablecoins and tokenized equities among the assets that gain additional utility through DeFi applications.
The distinction is between creating an onchain asset and making it usable in financial markets. The foundation’s account emphasizes that these assets need pricing, trading and borrowing functions, alongside the ability to serve as collateral.
Raja Chakravorti, the foundation’s Chief Business Officer, said institutional-scale onchain markets require dependable infrastructure for pricing, execution and movement. He described Chainlink’s data and connectivity as a foundation for financial applications that put issued assets to work.
Stellar provides smart-contract functionality and a payments-optimized protocol. Its design aims to keep transaction fees low and allow transaction speeds to scale with increased adoption.
Scale commitment supports oracle access and launch adoption
The launch follows Stellar’s decision to join the Chainlink Scale program with a substantial capital commitment. That commitment is intended to give developers cost-efficient access to enterprise-grade oracle infrastructure.
Leading applications are adopting Chainlink on the Stellar network to support lending and collateral operations. At launch, that includes loan-to-value calculations, collateral processing, automated liquidations and reference rates for stablecoins.
