Colombo, Oct 17 (Daily Mirror) - Ven. Balangoda Kassapa Thera, who was participating in a satyagraha at Colombo’s Viharamahadevi Park demanding the release of Venerable Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera, has been hospitalised.
Participants in the protest alleged that Ven. Balangoda Kassapa Thera was assaulted by police officers, triggering a tense situation between police and the protesters.
The participants later arranged for him to be rushed to hospital in a Suwa Seriya ambulance.
The satyagraha was organised to demand the release of Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera.
