Woman charged with ‘culpable and reckless conduct’ after house fire in Fife

A woman has been arrested and charged with “culpable and reckless conduct” following a house fire in Fife.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to Rosabelle Street in Kirkcaldy at around 7.30pm following reports of a house fire.

Two appliances were deployed to the scene, and the fire was extinguished with crews leaving the scene just before 9pm.

Police were also called to the scene, where they arrested and charged a 23-year-old woman.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 9.50pm on Sunday, October 18, we were made aware of a fire at a property in the Rosabelle Street area of Kirkcaldy.

“The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries.

“A 23-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection with culpable and reckless conduct.

“She is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sherriff Court on Monday, October 19.”
