- Viutravel has launched a Barbados Food & Rum Package scheduled to run from November 3 to 10, 2026, with prices starting from USD 5,140.
Viutravel has partnered with Barbados Tourism & Marketing Inc. to promote Barbados as a visa-free travel destination for Kenyan travellers, in a move aimed at strengthening tourism ties between the two countries and creating new travel opportunities.
The partnership was signed in Nairobi by Kyle Gittens, Director for Africa and the Middle East at Barbados Tourism & Marketing Inc., and Kui Muriithi, Head of Marketing at Viutravel.
The collaboration forms part of Viutravel’s #PowerOfTheKenyanPassport campaign, which seeks to spotlight international destinations accessible to Kenyan passport holders and encourage travellers to explore beyond familiar holiday destinations.
As part of the partnership, Viutravel has launched a Barbados Food & Rum Package scheduled to run from November 3 to 10, 2026, with prices starting from USD 5,140.
The package offers travellers an opportunity to experience Barbados through its culinary traditions, renowned rum heritage and picturesque beaches, combining cultural discovery with a Caribbean island escape.
Exploring Barbados Through Food, Rum and Culture
Located in the Caribbean, Barbados is known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, vibrant culture and distinctive culinary scene. Its food culture reflects a blend of African, British and Caribbean influences, with local dishes and fresh seafood forming an important part of the island’s identity.
Rum is another defining feature of the destination, with Barbados widely associated with the history and production of the spirit. For travellers seeking experiences beyond beach resorts, the island offers opportunities to explore local cuisine, heritage sites and cultural attractions.
Through the new package, Viutravel aims to introduce Kenyan travellers to these experiences while making the destination more accessible through curated travel arrangements.
Expanding Travel Opportunities for Kenyan Passport Holders
The partnership also highlights the growing interest in international travel experiences that combine leisure, culture and convenience.
By promoting Barbados as a visa-free destination for Kenyan travellers, Viutravel hopes to encourage more Kenyans to consider the Caribbean when planning international holidays.
The initiative places destination awareness at the centre of the campaign, highlighting travel opportunities available to Kenyan passport holders and introducing them to destinations they may not traditionally consider for their next getaway.
With the Barbados Food & Rum Package scheduled for November 2026, the partnership marks a new step in Viutravel’s efforts to connect Kenyan travellers with international experiences.
For travellers interested in combining Caribbean beaches with food, culture and rum heritage, Barbados offers an opportunity to discover a different side of island travel.
