By Zoila Palma: Belize has lost a respected figure with the passing of Antonio “Tony” Zabaneh, the beloved patriarch of the Zabaneh family, who passed away on October 21, 2026.
In 2025, Zabaneh was honored with The Order of Distinction award for contributions to Business & Community Service.
His family has announced his transition into eternal life and is inviting relatives, friends and well-wishers to join them in celebrating his life and legacy.
A Mass of Celebration of his Life will be held on Tuesday, October 27, at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Redeemer Cathedral in Belize City.
A Mass of Thanksgiving for his Life is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Church in Independence Village, followed by interment in the village.
The Zabaneh family is asking for the presence and prayers of all those whose lives were touched by Tony Zabaneh. His passing marks the loss of a family patriarch whose life and legacy will be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
