Jennifer Lawrence has a wardrobe for every role. Red-carpet fixture? Check. Downtown mum on toddler duty? Check. Upper East Side matriarch with strong opinions on table settings? Erm… check.
Last night, Lawrence stepped out with her husband, Cooke Maroney, ahead of their seventh wedding anniversary in Park Avenue’s finest: a tweed cardigan jacket and silk skirt, with a small decorative clutch dangling from one finger. The one detail that broke character? Her glove-like leather flats – a very Lawrence finishing touch, because even when she’s leaning into ladylike dressing, you can’t get her out of a so-wrong-it’s-right shoe. (See: the Haflingers.)

It’s her second lesson in date-night dressing this week. A couple of days ago, Lawrence was spotted with Maroney in a concrete-scraping wool coat and strappy Prada sandals, carrying The Veil’s tasselled Fountain bag. All in a week’s work for an actor with this much range.
