French police and gendarmes deployed Centaure armoured vehicles in Paris and Marseille on Saturday, 24 October, as authorities prepared for demonstrations over the rising cost of living.
In Paris, an armoured vehicle was stationed behind the National Assembly, while in Marseille, security forces patrolled the streets alongside armoured vehicles and a water cannon.
The deployment comes amid concerns about further violence during protests, following clashes, looting and arson in several French cities the previous weekend.
