With the WNBA postseason taking center stage across the sports world, veteran guard Sophie Cunningham offered her honest opinion on Atlanta Dream standout Angel Reese last week, commending the rising star’s motor and areas for her to improve in her game.
During her recent media commitments, Cunningham pointed out the physically aggressive style of Reese’s play on the court. Instead of relying solely on the physical elements of matchups, Cunningham saw Reese’s work ethic, hustle and the competitive spirit that is willing to fight for loose balls and teammates.
Cunningham, who also mentioned those intangibles and competitive fire of Reese, went on to next discuss Reese’s offensive development. Praising the youngster’s tremendous work ethic and motor, the fourth-year forward is convinced that Reese’s offensive game will expand significantly as the athlete gains more familiarity with the professional level.
Key Takeaways for WNBA Fans:
Testimonials: Motor & Hustle “Reese had an NBA ready body and displayed great rebounding instincts and hustle to make hustle plays” Cunningham.
Noting Reese’s ever-expanding offensive game, Cunningham believes she can take that part of her game to the next level.
Competitive Respect: The comments are reflective of a deep admiration between the best of the best in the WNBA as the league continues to ramp up the level of play.
