Former NFL star and current analyst Rob Gronkowski recently made his stance clear on quarterback Drake Maye, just days before the New England Patriots face the Chicago Bears.
Kay Adams put Gronk on the hot seat on "Up and Adams with Kay Adams," asking him to choose Drake Maye or Caleb Williams as his quarterback. While the former Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end said it was a tough decision, he ultimately went with Maye.
"This is tough. This is tough, but I'm gonna go with Drake Maye; I really am," Gronk told Adams. "I just like the touch on his ball, and I feel like, for me, Drake Maye as a player would be the ideal quarterback.
"I'm not saying that I wouldn't have chemistry with Caleb, but I feel Drake Maye and I would be able to be on the same page with the chemistry going into games, and you know, just the way that he can process defenses, I feel like he's gonna get better and better and better," Gronk said.

Maye currently ranks 11th with his 1,473 passing yards, seventh with his 11 touchdowns, and fourth with a 77.3 QBR. He's led the Patriots to a 4-2 record, keeping them within contention of the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East.
Williams hasn't played the full slate for his team due to a hamstring tear in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings. He just recently returned to lead his team to their fourth victory, with a win over the Atlanta Falcons.
By comparison, he's thrown for 712 yards, three touchdowns, and has a 77.5 QBR, which ranks third in the NFL. He's thrown just one interception in his three appearances this season, with 11 games remaining, including Thursday's matchup against New England.
Multiple commenters responded to Adams' X post revealing that Gronk chose Maye over Williams by calling the former Patriots star biased. Gronk played for the Patriots from 2010 to 2018, winning three Super Bowl rings with the legendary Tom Brady.
"Crazyyyyyy. A Patriots legend believes a Patriots QB is better," one commenter wrote.
Another said, "He’s a former Patriot, of course he’s gonna say this.. even the hamster on the wheel in his head knows he’s full of [expletive]."
"Gronk is awesome BUT no one should be shocked he picked the QB from the team he spent most of his career playing for," someone commented.
Gronk won a fourth when he joined his former quarterback on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and chemistry with Brady may have been a huge factor in his decision to join a new team in 2020.
Whether or not Williams watches "Up and Adams" or has heard Gronk's stance on which quarterback he'd prefer is unknown, but the former Patriots star may have given the Bears quarterback some extra motivation, as if he needs it playing in Chicago on Thursday night.
