Opening up about his childhood, he told Wales Online, 'I think when you come from a working class background, nothing is delivered to you on a silver platter, right? You don't have the job opportunities that middle and upper class kids do.'

In 2026, he returned to the stage to appear in the Broadway production of The Rocky Horror Show as the iconic Dr. Frank-N-Furter - a role which landed him a Tony Award nomination.

Is Luke Evans married? Inside his love life
Between 2014 and 2016, Luke dated Spanish actor and model Jon Kortajarena. Since 2021, he's been in a relationship with entrepreneur Fran Tomas.
Speaking to People, Luke said, 'We're a great team in life. He's my best friend. He's the calm, deep waters, and I am the rushing, bubbly water. And between the two of us, we can solve anything.'
Luke spoke about his sexuality on Alison Hammond's Big Weekend, touching on the difficulties of growing up gay and being a member of the Jehovah's Witness community.
Revealing that he had reached a 'dark place' in his teenage years, Luke said, 'I knew I was different, I didn't know I was gay. I just knew I was different from the ages of seven, eight, nine, you know, very young. I also didn't have anyone outside the religion to be able to confide in or ask what was wrong. I've been baptised in the religion and that meant if I chose to be openly gay, I would be cut off from everyone and everything I knew.'
Saying the experience was 'very complicated' and 'very confusing,' he continued, 'I felt very, very isolated.'
