The US Department of Justice is investigating ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and Fox News over their temporary suspension of White House press pool coverage. The DoJ's Antitrust Division is examining whether the networks' coordinated boycott violated the Sherman Act.
The inquiry follows disputes between the Trump administration and news organisations over press credentials, First Amendment rights and access to presidential events. The investigation comes amid wider legal battles involving CNN, MS Now, Politico and the Associated Press.
