NAVER Cloud has launched a service that lets companies review their security posture and identify areas for improvement through an online survey alone. The tool extends security assessments beyond the traditional focus on infrastructure and data to cover environments where artificial intelligence is in use.
NAVER Cloud said on the 19th that it had opened a website for "NAVER Cloud Security Self-Check," a free security diagnostic service for businesses.
The self-check is a participatory diagnostic service built on the cloud and security technology and operating experience NAVER Cloud has accumulated. It consists of 21 questions across seven areas, including network security, access control, and data protection and encryption. A separate section on security in AI-enabled environments allows companies to assess newly emerging threats tied to the spread of AI adoption.
That section examines how companies respond to automated AI-driven attacks, what policies they have in place to prevent leaks of sensitive information when employees use AI services, and how they manage access rights to internal AI systems. The aim is to gauge how well prepared companies are for security risks that can arise as they adopt and use AI.
The service also suggests ways to address weaknesses found in the diagnosis. Once the survey is complete, it outlines the main security regulations that apply to the respondent's industry, along with remedies for areas needing improvement and related services. Users can also consult security specialists if needed. The tool is available free to anyone on the NAVER Cloud Platform website, without entering a company name or contact details.
"Security keeps growing in importance, but many companies are at a loss over where to begin checking," said Kim Jae-dong, chief information security officer at NAVER Cloud. "We built this self-check service so that anyone can easily start reviewing their security, and we will continue to roll out practical security services that help companies prepare for the new threats of the AI era."
NAVER Cloud received the top grade in the government's comprehensive information protection assessment of major information and communications infrastructure in July. A NAVER Cloud-led consortium was also recently selected to develop a specialized AI foundation model for cybersecurity under a government project.
