Two citizens of Uzbekistan, 49 and 29, sustained minor injuries in an attack on Riyadh Airport on 10 October, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Omonulla Fayziyev said. Around 20 other citizens of Uzbekistan who were at the airport at the time of the incident were not injured.
Two citizens of Uzbekistan sustained minor injuries in a ballistic missile attack on Terminal 3 of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 10 October, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Omonulla Fayziyev said.
The two citizens, born in 1977 and 1997, received first aid before being taken to Diriyah Hospital. Following medical examinations and the necessary procedures, both patients were discharged from the hospital.
According to preliminary data, around 20 other citizens of Uzbekistan who were at the airport at the time of the incident were not injured, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
“The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riyadh, in cooperation with the relevant authorities of Saudi Arabia, continues to monitor the situation, remains in constant contact with our citizens and is providing the necessary consular assistance,” Fayziyev noted.
In response to Gazeta’s question about whether the injured citizens were relatives, he said this was not known at the time.
At least 12 people were killed and nearly 310 others sustained injuries, including critical injuries, in Saturday’s attack on the airport carried out by Yemen’s Houthi rebels. The fatalities included four Saudi nationals, one US citizen and citizens of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan. Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry condemned attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
