Harmon, a former standout for Liberia’s Barrack Young Controllers (BYC), netted in the 44th and 86th minutes to headline an emphatic performance at the National Football Stadium in Malé City on Sunday, October 11.
The Liberian forward broke the deadlock just before halftime, handing Eagles a vital psychological advantage heading into the break.
Teammate Marko Ivanovic extended the lead in the 80th minute before Harmon struck again six minutes later, sealing all three points and capping a stellar outing.
The triumph marks a dream start for Harmon, who joined Eagles for the 2026-27 campaign looking to carve out a successful chapter in Maldivian football.
Yet, beyond the statistics and the league standings, Harmon’s post-match reflections revealed a poignant blend of profound faith and personal grief.
Taking to social media shortly after the final whistle, the striker dedicated his ongoing campaign to the Almighty, posting: “This season is for the glory of God. (Jehovah Rapha, El Roi).”
He also penned an emotional tribute to his late mother, expressing a heartfelt yearning for her presence during his milestone moments
“Dear mama I wish you were here to see your ‘Duku’ celebrating again,” he wrote, punctuating the tribute with broken-heart and teary-eyed emojis.
Harmon wrapped up his message by expressing gratitude for the victory, the brace, and Eagles’ rise to the top of the table.
“Two goals and grateful to God for the win and topping the table. We keep getting better and stronger,” he added.
The strong start has injected immense confidence into the Eagles camp. For Harmon, the goals signify much more than an impressive start to live abroad; they serve as a testament to resilience, fueled by faith and the enduring memory of his mother.
As the Dhivehi Premier League campaign gathers momentum, Sunday’s masterclass provides a solid foundation. With two goals, three points, and the Eagles flying high at the top, Harmon has firmly signaled his intent to take Maldivian football by storm.
