Julian Ward has done his job, and Liverpool have found their next Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The club's new sporting director has a lot of pressure on him to succeed. Liverpool are embarking on a metamorphosis. The club is very much in a transitional period.
There's a new head-coach in Andoni Iraola and a myriad of new players who are all young and still adjusting to life in the Premier League.
It will take time for things to work out in the way some Liverpool fans want it to work out. Rebuilding is never an easy thing, and expectations are always high for a club like Liverpool.
But Rome was not built in a day. Ward has strong foundations, but he still needs to build this team brick by brick and find those finishing touches.
Liverpool's need to sign a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold
The truth is that the Reds are lacking a player of the Englishman's ilk. Since Alexander-Arnold left the club, Liverpool have been without a proper right-back.
Both Arne Slot and Andoni Iraola have had to use makeshift options in the absence of Conor Bradley.
This saw Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones playing there last season under Slot, and this season Ronald Araujo is making the role his own.
Of course, Jeremie Frimpong is an option. However, the truth is that he isn't really a right-back, he just doesn't suit that role at all. It's why even Iraola has used him sparingly in that position.
Not to mention, Frimpong is also very injury-prone. So, Liverpool need a long-term solution.
Julian Ward finds the next Trent Alexander-Arnold in Daniel Banjaqui
The club's sporting director has made it his mission to address this area of the pitch. Ward and his recruitment team have been keeping an eye on a lot of potential right-backs.
However, there is only one perfect option and it looks like Ward has found him.
According to Glorioso 1904, Liverpool have entered the race for Daniel Banjaqui. The Benfica right-back is now on the Reds' radar after a brilliant start to the campaign.
He has been admired for Liverpool by some time. Pedro Marques, who works in recruiting young talents has been keeping an eye on him and now it looks like Ward is becoming a fan as well.
That's good because Banjaqui is a phenomenal talent. He is the perfect all-round right-back who has been likened to Nuno Mendes, and at 18-years-old he has everything to become the next Trent at Anfield.
Ward has done the hard part, he has found the perfect piece of the jigsaw. Now he just needs to get the deal done.
