St. John’s Regional firefighters were called to 3 Humber Drive just before 3 p.m. when residents discovered the fire in an upstairs bathroom.
Firefighters knocked the fire down in minutes but not before the entire upper and lower levels had filled with smoke.
At one point, a firefighter moved some charred bathroom fan exhaust duct from the home as smoke continued to seep from the eaves.
There were no injuries to any of the occupants of the upper unit nor their dogs.
The residents of the downstairs unit were not home at the time.
