The Patriots just fell short in Chicago, losing to the Bears 30-24. It wasn’t for a lack of trying, especially on the part of Drake Maye.
When Maye couldn’t connect with his receivers, a common theme throughout the game, he pivoted. He gave the ball to RB Rhamondre Stevenson, making him the lead "receiver."
Maye did get intercepted in the end zone in the second quarter. It was his eighth interception and tenth turnover.
Despite the setback, coach Mike Vrabel appreciated Maye’s recovery following the interception.
"He gave us a chance. He competed, and I know he'd like to have that throw back to Eli (Raridon), but I thought he really competed. Whether that was running around and scrambling or finding a good place to go with the football, he gave us a chance," Vrabel said.

"I know he'd like to have that one back. He'll learn from it like he always does. I'm glad he's ours."
Maye did run the ball himself, leading all rushers with 26 yards and a touchdown, forcing his arm over the line to put the Patriots on the board.
The Patriots had a short turnaround in Week 7. Maye will have a chance to recover following a long break from action. The team will have to wait until November 1 to take on the Dolphins.
