The formula fights cavities while removing stains, and reviewers say it gives them that “just left the dentist” feeling.
A toothpaste brand you won’t find on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s list of recalled products this week? Colgate. And not only is it safe to use, but one of its most popular whitening formulas is 47 percent off right now, coming in at under $10 for a pack of three. That’s more than enough of a reason to stock up. Keep reading to learn more about why people who use it praise it so much.
Deal of the day
Colgate’s Optic White toothpaste, which has more than 43,000 five-star customer ratings on Amazon alone, is made with fluoride, a cavity-fighting ingredient, as well as 2 percent hydrogen peroxide, which gently removes stains from teeth and dull yellowing over time. Don’t expect dramatic results — on its own, whitening toothpaste is weak, but when you pair it with consistent whitening strip use (like Crest Whitestrips, which are currently 24 percent off) or brush with it after a professional treatment at the dentist, it helps you maintain a white smile. This whitening toothpaste is also a great option for those with sensitive teeth that can’t handle more advanced treatments.
The toothpaste comes in a minty flavor that one reviewer, who praised it for giving them a “just left the dentist feeling,” says “leaves my mouth feeling extremely fresh without tasting overpowering or artificial.” One thing to be aware of in case you have a sensitivity: it’s made with sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), an ingredient that makes it get foamy as you scrub.
The brand says those 2 years and older can use it with parental supervision, but because it’s a whitening toothpaste, we think it’s best for teens and adults. Find a list of safe kids toothpaste we recommend here.
