The lowlife monster who flashed a sinister smile after being charged with tossing his girlfriend and their 8-month-old daughter from a Bronx balcony was seen for the first time in court Wednesday — but he wasn’t smiling this time.
Angel Carrasco, 31, appeared virtually from a hospital bed as he was arraigned on second-degree murder for fatally throwing his girlfriend, 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez, from a 15-story balcony on October 5 — while she clutched their 8-month-old daughter Angel Novalty Carrasco-Ramirez, who somehow survived the fall.
Carassco, who has been stuck inside a psych ward since his arrest last week, was ordered to remain in custody by Bronx Criminal Court Judge Cary Fischer.
The judge also issued a full order of protection for little Angel, who remains hospitalized at Jacobi Hospital after suffering “life-threatening injuries,” the criminal complaint read.
The crazed man allegedly showed up at Ramirez’s Allerton apartment with flowers in an attempt to patch up their relationship after he was twice busted for domestic violence incidents there, according to law enforcement sources.
But Carrasco’s attempt to win her back failed — which threw him into an alleged fit of rage when he threw Ramirez and his daughter from the balcony around 3:40 a.m. before fleeing the scene, sources said.
He was nabbed a day after the alleged toss by US Marshals and NYPD cops — where he then flashed a wide smile while cuffed as he was being escorted into a police car.
Carrasco was involved in two domestic violence incidents involving Ramirez in January, where he allegedly broke into her apartment three days after he allegedly slapped her twice when she declined to talk to him.
Ramirez, who attended Baruch College, worked at Lishawns Consulting in Manhattan, where a rep described the mom as a “rising star” and “very hardworking.”
Carrasco is charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
If convicted of murder, he faces up to life in prison at his sentencing.
He’s due back in court on November 4.
