JUBA — The Revive South Sudan Party (RSSP) has announced the appointment of Meen Mabor Meen as its interim chairman to lead the political organisation through its transitional period.
In an official press release dated October 17, the party stated that the decision was reached by its Founding Central Committee in accordance with Articles 16(3)(b) and 18(2)(a) of the party’s Interim Constitution, which is dated May 17, 2026.
Under his new mandate, Meen is expected to collaborate closely with party members and structural organs to maintain ongoing operations and enhance institutional coordination across the organisation.
The RSSP leadership has called upon all party members, supporters, and officials to extend their full cooperation to the interim chairman, emphasizing the importance of promoting unity, mutual respect, and shared responsibility moving forward.
Reaffirming its broader organizational goals, the party stated that it remains steadfastly committed to serving the people of South Sudan and fostering peaceful democratic participation.
The Founding Central Committee announced that further administrative updates and organizational developments will be communicated through the party’s official channels.
When asked by Eye Radio whether he intends to challenge President Salva Kiir in the December elections, Menimen clarified his electoral plans to the station, stating: “I am going for Rumbek East member of parliament although I haven’t publicly mentioned,” Meen told Eye Radio.
Meanwhile, last week, Suk Karabu hitmaker Menimen, born Mabior Meen, announced that he is preparing to contest the upcoming elections, describing his music career as a foundation for his political ambitions.
