Falling into a 14-0 hole for the second time this season, UTSA quarterback Owen McCown already knew what to expect. And when the time came to deliver a game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter, McCown was prepared to meet that moment, too.
All five of the Roadrunners' games against Group of Six opponents this year have been played within a one-score margin at some point during the final quarter, and all five have ended with wins.
McCown's third late game-winning drive of the season lifted UTSA to a 38-34 victory over Navy on Saturday in the Alamodome, pushing the Roadrunners to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the American Conference.
"The guys don't really blink. We don't really look at the score," McCown said. "We just know we've got to go out and execute the next play, and that's what we did."

With UTSA listed as just a 3-point favorite entering a matchup with Tulane at 7 p.m. Saturday at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans, the Roadrunners are bracing for another tight finish in what coach Jeff Traylor warns will be a season full of them.
Traylor said the Roadrunners trust a more healthy McCown to deliver in those moments with both his arm and legs this year, and offensive linemen Ben Rios said UTSA's front is confident in McCown's ability to come through as long as they can hold up in protection.
"Owen has been doing a good job compared to the last couple years with game-winning drives," Rios said. "I think he's really just stepped up his game, and he's more confident back there, and he's leading the ship."
