MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky has refused to resign and believes it is impossible to hold presidential elections in Ukraine, which US President Donald Trump considers necessary.
In an interview with British TV presenter Piers Morgan, fragments of which are posted on the TV presenter’s social media platform X, when asked whether he intends to resign, Zelensky said: "No, of course. It’s my responsibility."
When asked whether he considers it possible to hold Ukrainian presidential elections, as Trump insists, Zelensky said: "No, of course."
Zelensky’s presidential powers officially expired on May 20, 2024, but Kiev did not hold regular elections, claiming that this was impossible until the end of martial law. On October 10, Trump said Zelensky should hold elections, and that he could have put an end to the conflict in Ukraine and concluded a peace agreement many times.
