Miscreants fired shots at the personal car of popular singer and former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Asif Akbar in the capital’s Moghbazar area early Saturday.
Hatirjheel Police Station Officer-in-Charge Asaduzzaman said Asif was not inside the car when the incident occurred and was unharmed.
The shooting took place in front of Bishal Centre in Moghbazar, he said.
Police have yet to establish the motive for the shooting or identify those involved, reports UNB.
They are trying to collect CCTV footage from the area to track down the suspects, the OC said.
