Bermudian sailors PJ Rodrigues and Jordan Vieira represented Eckerd College as the team finished 13th at the Nevins Trophy in Kings Point, New York.
The Tritons totalled 253 points in the 18-team regatta, which featured 12 completed races in each division.
Rodrigues sailed with Will Alvarado in A Division, finishing 12th with 129 points and six top-half results. Their best finish was fourth in race 10.
Vieira partnered Avery Guck in B Division, where they placed 13th with 124 points. The pair recorded four top-half finishes, including victory in the final race.
The opening day brought winds of 20 to 33 knots, gusting to 38 knots, alongside cold temperatures and building waves. Eckerd’s A Division entry did not start races five and six, with the team ending the day in 12th place overall on 173 points.
Conditions eased on the second day, with winds of eight to 10 knots and gusts reaching 18 knots. The divisions switched between FJs and 420s, but fading winds prevented completion of the planned 14 races per division.
Eckerd will next compete at the Atlantic Coast Tournament, beginning October 24.
