In a grand stride to career advancement within the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), 5,900 education officers have gathered in Abuja to sit for the ongoing 2026 promotion examinations.
The exercise, which entered its sixth day on Monday, marks a pivotal moment for Education Officers, Senior Education Officers, and Assistant Education Officers ranging from Grade Level 13 up to Grade Level 17.
The massive turnout followed a special intervention by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyensom Wike who formally approved the participation of officers who were previously at risk of exclusion due to past misconduct and protests.
Speaking during an inspection of the examination venue, the Head of Civil Service of the FCTA, Mrs. Nancy Sabanti Nathan, expressed her delight at the orderly conduct and high turnout of the candidates.
“I am so happy that they came out in this number for their examination.
“The last time, just like the chairman said, some of them were into protest and couldn’t write.
“But the minister, in the spirit of the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda,’ renewed their hope by approving that they should come and write the exams.
“My message to them is simple: they should continue to be orderly and write their exams, because that is the path to career progression,” Mrs. Nathan stated.
