KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will work with the police in the investigation into My E.G. Sdn Bhd (MYEG) and Zetrix AI Bhd.
MACC said it received a report on the matter last week and was informed that the case was already being investigated by the police.
In a statement, the anti-graft agency said it would share information with the police, while police would refer any elements of corruption uncovered during their investigation to MACC.
MACC also urged anyone with information on the matter to come forward and cooperate with the authorities.
Previously, the Transport Ministry suspended MyEG and Zetrix AI's services as revenue collection agents for the Road Transport Department (RTD).
This followed reports that the companies, both under the MYEG Group, had failed to remit millions of ringgit in collections.
The total amount claimed from the MYEG Group for the period between May 19 and Sept 30 was RM314 million.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke has said the ministry and RTD will pursue legal action to recover money owed to the government.
