Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has called on United States President Donald Trump to impose visa bans, asset freezes and other sanctions on Nigerian officials involved in manipulating the 2027 general elections.
Frank made the appeal in a notice addressed to Trump on Tuesday, urging the US government to use diplomatic pressure to promote free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria.
He argued that Washington should take preventive measures before the polls rather than wait until allegations of electoral malpractice emerge after the exercise.

The former APC spokesman proposed a policy he described as “No Mandate From Fraud,” which he said would hold individuals accountable for any attempt to undermine the electoral process.
According to Frank, credible elections are essential to ensuring accountable leadership, strengthening economic development and maintaining national stability.
Frank urged the Trump administration to consider targeted restrictions against individuals accused of participating in electoral manipulation, including visa bans and the freezing of their assets.

He maintained that those found to have engaged in vote rigging, falsification or other forms of electoral interference should face individual consequences.
“The Trump administration must act now to ensure electoral integrity in Nigeria. The time to act is before the elections, not after the damage has been done,” Frank said.
He further warned that anyone involved in manipulating the 2027 election should be held accountable.
“Any individual who participates in the manipulation, falsification, or rigging of the 2027 election will face immediate, individual consequences,” he added.
