At about 1:05 p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP, EHS and fire services responded to a report of a head-on collision on Highway10 between an unmarked RCMP pickup truck and a Hyundai Sante Fe.
The driver of the Santa Fe, a 64-year-old man from Nictaux Falls, and two passengers, a 77-year-old woman from Nictaux Falls and a youth from Lunenburg, were transported to hospital by EHS with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The RCMP officer, who was the sole occupant of the police vehicle, was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The roadway was closed for several hours while an RCMP collision reconstructionist examined the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
