JELI: A security guard was killed when a tree fell on him while he was riding his motorcycle in Kampung Ayer Lanas.
Mohd Alia Sabri Mat Repin, 40, suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene.
Jeli Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohd Adni Ibrahim said 10 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, where they found the victim trapped beneath the fallen tree.
"The victim worked at Jeli Polytechnic and was riding a Honda EX5 motorcycle from his home in Bukit Bunga to his workplace when the incident occurred.
"Dashcam footage from a road user showed the tree falling and striking the victim," he said.
Mohd Adni said firefighters, assisted by Civil Defence Force personnel, used a chainsaw to cut the fallen tree and remove the victim.
