In an Eagles season that has quickly fallen apart, no storyline is now as important as Jalen Hurts' health.
With the latest update arriving on Monday that Philadelphia's star quarterback will miss the rest of the 2026 season due to his blood-clotting issues, fans have questioned the timeline of how Hurts' diagnosis came to be. Concerns over Philadelphia's management of Hurts' blood clots were rampant online, with a report from Tom Pelissero indicating that the quarterback stayed awake roughly 36 hours at the word of doctors before still taking the field against Jacksonville.
On Monday afternoon, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni spoke publicly about Hurts' diagnosis and what the team knows.
Here's what Sirianni had to say about the most recent updates on Hurts.

Nick Sirianni addresses latest update on Jalen Hurts blood clot situation
Following the Eagles' release on Monday, detailing that Hurts was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli, Sirianni was asked about Pelissero's report, which said that Hurts did not sleep for 36 hours at the advise of doctors before he still played in London against Jacksonville.
Pelissero later followed up on the initial report, saying Hurts' agent, Nicole Lynn, told him that "while Hurts was up until early Sunday morning getting evaluated at a hospital, he was able to sleep upon rejoining the team and the Eagles set aside a room for him at the stadium."
Sirianni acknowledged that Pelissero had clarified his initial information about Hurts staying awake for 36 hours.
"Again, with all that, I think the reporter that put that out came out with another report," Sirianni said Monday. "The health of our players is always at the forefront of our mind. We'll leave that up to the medical experts. But we always, always care deeply about our players."
The Eagles head coach continually deferred to his team's medical experts, noting that he's "not a medical expert."
"I’m not a medical expert. We get medical information from our guys. Our players' health is first and foremost. I’m a football coach," Sirianni said. "I lean on our medical folks in every situation. I have full faith in them. It’s not just me who has major care for our players, it’s them as well.”
Sirianni had similar answers when asked about why Hurts was allowed to fly back to Philadelphia from London, with a reporter pushing him a bit for information.
"Again, I'm not a medical expert," Sirianni said. "We put out a detailed statement for you guys."

Otherwise, Sirianni didn't provide further details on Hurts, declining to share conversations he's had with the quarterback and saying he "fully trusts" the team's medical staff.
In other updates, Sirianni also said offensive coordinator Sean Mannion will continue calling plays for the Eagles.
Sean Mannion will continue to call plays, Nick Sirianni said. "Everything's on the table" with fixing the offense, but play-caller/coaches is/are not changing, Sirianni said.
