This upcoming offseason, the Seattle Mariners have a lot of things they must do to right this ship. After coming one game away from a World Series appearance in 2025, they had a miserable 2026 season in a wide-open AL West.
Change is likely coming for this Mariners' squad, especially after a frustrating season. But one of the players who wasn't frustrating for the Mariners, Randy Arozarena, is hitting the open market this offseason.
Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter is predicting that Arozarena, the All-Star outfielder coming off a huge season for Seattle, will land a lofty $115 million contract this offseason.
Randy Arozarena predicted to land $115M contract
"Predicted contract: 5 years, $115 million," Reuter predicts. "Nick Castellanos was coming off a career year offensively and was one of the top bats on the market when he signed a five-year, $110 million deal with the Phillies. Arozarena should be able to surpass that contract, despite the fact that he is two years older than Castellanos was when he signed."
The comparison that Reuter makes to Nick Castellanos is an interesting one. Arozarena isn't the best fielder, and neither was Castellanos.
But, as a right-handed power-hitting outfielder, there's bound to be a significant market for a long-term deal, even if there's risk looking into the future.

Arozarena could regress, but coming off a 5.7 WAR season with an impressive 148 OPS+ and 26 homers with 26 stolen bases, there's plenty of reason to believe Arozarena, at 31 years old, will continue to stay elite.
Still, a $115 million contract over five years would be quite the lofty deal. While that contract total seems high, the $23 million per-year mark on this predicted deal wouldn't be much more than the qualifying offer on a per-year basis.
Any team would surely love to have a slugger like Arozarena in their outfield, especially as a right-handed hitter, something teams are seemingly always looking for nowadays.
Will Arozarena actually land a $115 million deal? It's not out of the question, especially if there's a team comfortable making such a long-term offer.
