Canadian defense manufacturer Inkas Aerospace & Defense is in advanced negotiations with Moroccan authorities to establish a production plant for armored vehicles and drones in the Kingdom, the company’s representative in Morocco said on the sidelines of the Marrakech Air Show 2026.
In an interview with le360, Moises Amselem Elbaz, Inkas’ representative in Morocco, told Le360 that the company is holding advanced talks for the industrial project.
He expressed hope for positive developments “very soon” but did not provide a specific timeline for a decision.
The investment amount has not been finalized. Amselem Elbaz described it as “very significant,” estimating that a plant of this type would start at around 50 million dirhams and could reach 300 to 400 million dirhams depending on the final scope of the project.
The facility would “most likely” be located near Casablanca, though no exact site has been confirmed.
During the Marrakech Air Show, held from October 7 to 10 at the Royal Air Force base, Inkas showcased two military vehicles: the M1 MRAP, launched in 2025, and the MLTV, introduced in 2026.
The M1 MRAP is a mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicle designed for high-threat environments. It can be configured for troop transport, command, reconnaissance, medical evacuation, or convoy protection and features a new anti-drone system highlighted at the event.
The MLTV is a modular light tactical vehicle adaptable for protected transport, patrol, reconnaissance, rapid intervention, command, and medical evacuation roles.
The company also presented the Anuri UAV, a modular AI-guided interceptor designed to counter FPV drones, modified commercial UAVs, and other low-altitude threats targeting military forces, strategic sites, and critical infrastructure.
