The mystery surrounding what happened to Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) in Coronation Street could be solved soon – and bad news may arrive at Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) door.
Earlier this year, Tyrone’s father Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) arrived in Weatherfield. As the new face plotted to worm his way into the family, Tyrone’s mum Cassie deeply struggled to have the man around.
Cassie’s plans to prove Ross is dodgy failed, which led to her burning the bridges she had worked so carefully to build with her family and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
Isolated, Cassie announced that she’d be leaving Weatherfield for a new job on a cruise ship. She was found by Ross, who offered to take her to the train station.
Parked at the side of a road, Cassie attempted to get the upper-hand during another argument with Ross, but he terrified her and locked the car doors.
Up Next
This was the last we saw of Cassie. We have no idea if she got on that cruise ship, or if evil Ross did something to her.
Tyrone has been so caught up in getting to know his dad, he hasn’t for one second considered that something terrible has happened to his mum. As far as Ty is concerned, his life is better now Cassie isn’t in it.
It’s possible we will soon discover what really happened to Cassie, and the gruesome reality may be uncovered by another Weatherfield resident.
At the moment, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) is investigating an abandoned plot of land that the council wants to sell to a developer. Daniel believes the space should be used to benefit local school children, while businessman Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) wants to build property on there.
If Idris wins the battle and building work begins, could his team make a horrifying discovery underground?
Has Ross buried Cassie on this land in the hope his dark secret wouldn’t ever be found out?
Whether we’ll find out the truth about Cassie’s vanishing remains to be seen but, what we do know is that it won’t be long until Tyrone sees who is dad really is:
‘Right now, Ross is trying to control Tyrone, but Tyrone sees it as very different to what Kirsty did because it’s a different person doing it in a different way, plus Ross is a big, intimidating chap. In the end, Tyrone will realise, “Hang on a minute, I’m not thinking for myself here, why is that?”‘, Alan Halsall said.
‘It might take Tyrone longer than other people, but he’ll get there with the help of Fiz, family, and others.’
