MARDAN – PTI Long March container, once touted as symbol of political defiance and revolutionary fervor, has reportedly been spotted standing in Mardan with punctured tires, and it triggered a wave of political satire over the fate of the protest campaign and the whereabouts of its leaders and supporters.
The container, which was previously used as a platform for fiery speeches, ambitious declarations and slogans during PTI protest activities, has now become the subject of ironic political narrative.
During protest activities, CM Afridi was seen addressing supporters from atop the container, charging workers to rally behind the movement. The container became familiar feature of the protest scene, representing the energy and defiance associated with PTI’s street politics.
The episode comes against the backdrop of political uncertainty in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where debates over PTI’s protest strategy, political leadership and mobilization of supporters remain consequential.

For critics of PTI’s protest politics, the container’s reported condition offers an opportunity to question the gap between ambitious declarations and practical outcomes. Supporters, meanwhile, may view the episode as a temporary logistical issue rather than evidence of a wider political setback.
Pakistan declared state of emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing the PTI-governed province under a federal administrative arrangement amid growing militant violence and escalating political tensions.
The move comes amid heightened security preparations in Islamabad, where authorities have deployed thousands of personnel and positioned containers along major roads ahead of the planned protest. Hundreds of PTI activists and three of Khan’s sisters have reportedly been detained.
The federal government accused Afghanistan of providing shelter to militants operating inside Pakistan and alleged that PTI has shown sympathy towards the Taliban. The accusations are disputed by the parties concerned.
The emergency has intensified the confrontation between Islamabad and PTI, raising serious questions about provincial autonomy, democratic governance and whether the federal intervention will improve security or deepen Pakistan’s political instability.
