Chief Justice of India has rejected a request by INDIA bloc leaders for a meeting to submit a representation regarding the Special Investigation Report and Chief Election Commissioner Ganesh Kumar. In a response sent via email, the Supreme Court clarified that the Chief Justice cannot entertain political meetings or representations on the administrative side as the matter is sub judice before the court. The CJI suggested that opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, are free to approach the Supreme Court on the judicial side by filing a petition to protect their rights. Multiple petitions concerning the issue have already been moved by various political leaders, even as protests and detentions continue across the national capital.
