Shame on you if you were expecting anything more than a comical, short, amateurish fight between Michael Beasley and Delonte West on Friday at Brand Risk 16. If your expectations were in the proper place, you watched the farce of a fight and simply nodded your head in acceptance as Beasley seemingly landed a wild right hand that dropped West and the latter didn’t beat the count. In case you missed it, here is a look at the fight, reaction and the chaotic comments that happened after. Let’s talk boxing.

How Did Michael Beasley Beat Delonte West?
If I’m being honest, I’m not sure Beasley ever hit West. It’s quite possible West simply got tired, fell down and couldn’t make it back to his feet. From the outset, it didn’t look as though Beasley was interested in hurting West, whom he has known from their years growing up near the DMV area.
Beasley was smiling and unwilling to throw shots at first, but West came out throwing wildly, and that’s when the former turned up the intensity.
How Does This Compare to Beasley’s Brand Risk Debut?
The result on Friday was a wide departure from what we saw in Beasley’s Brand Risk debut earlier this year against another former NBA player, Lance Stephenson. In that fight, which was contested under MMA rules, Stephenson won via submission after he sunk in a choke Beasley clearly wasn’t prepared to handle.
What’s Next for Michael Beasley?
After the fight, Beasley was called out comically by internet personality Charleston White, who is a regular on Brand Risk streams. Hopefully, that doesn’t come to fruition. But this is Brand Risk and anything is possible.
How Did the Brand Risk 16 Card Change?
Beasley vs. West landed on a Brand Risk 16 card that changed before the first bell. Deshae Frost vs. YK Osiris moved into the main event after Wendy Ortiz failed to clear medicals for her scheduled headliner against Yera, and the commission did not approve King Azoulay vs. Supa Hot Fire.
The event streamed free on Kick from the Brand Risk Warehouse in Miami. Before the fight game, Beasley was the No. 2 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, and West was a first-round pick of the Boston Celtics in 2004.
| Card Change | Detail |
|---|---|
| New main event | Deshae Frost vs. YK Osiris |
| Original headliner | Wendy Ortiz vs. Yera, canceled (medicals) |
| Not approved | King Azoulay vs. Supa Hot Fire |
