Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth broke ground Oct. 14 on a $475 million hospital in Louisville, Colo.
AdventHealth Louisville will replace and build on the longstanding legacy of AdventHealth Avista while expanding care access throughout Louisville and surrounding communities, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
The 375,000-square-foot hospital, which is expected to open in the first quarter of 2029, will sit on a 40-acre site. It will include up to 150 beds and will significantly expand emergency care access.
In partnership with the city of Louisville, AdventHealth has dedicated 7.5 acres of its existing Avista campus as protected open space. The health system is assessing future usage of the Avista campus, with outpatient services expected to remain part of its near-term plan.
The system opened AdventHealth Aurora (Colo.) Highlands, an $81 million campus, on Sept. 21. The campus’s emergency room and medical office building were the first phase of the planned dual-phase medical campus, with future developments including a 50- to 75-bed hospital with an anticipated Level III trauma center designation.
AdventHealth currently has five hospitals in Colorado: AdventHealth Avista, AdventHealth Castle Rock (Colo.), AdventHealth Littleton (Colo.), AdventHealth Parker (Colo.) and AdventHealth Porter in Denver, the release said.
