G.H. Bass is continuing to celebrate its 150th anniversary with a new collection in collaboration with DSM Kei Ninomiya, the first in-house brand of the multi-brand concept store Dover Street Market.
Designed by Kei Ninomiya, the brand reinterprets the footwear label’s classic Larson penny loafer, which was first introduced in 1936 and remains one of G.H. Bass’ most enduring silhouettes, defined by its slip-on ease and distinctive saddle strap.
The collection introduces two men’s styles in embossed polished black and rich wine leather, adding a textured finish to the loafer. This is paired with a custom signature Dover Street Market hut logo nickel coin placed within the traditional penny slot.
The DSM Kei Ninomiya x G.H. Bass Larson loafer, which retails for $465, is now available on Ghbass.com and Doverstreetmarket.com.
This is the latest collaboration from Bass as the footwear brand celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.
Earlier this month, G.H. Bass revealed a new shoe in collaboration with Clarks Originals. Dubbed the G.H. Bass x Clarks Originals Wallabee Weejuns Loafer, the mouthful of a name described exactly what it is — a Clarks Wallabee meets a Bass Weejuns in two colorways.
The maple colorway, the signature colorway of the Clarks Wallabee, is crafted from premium suede supplied by English tannery C.F. Stead, while the black colorway featured G.H. Bass’ signature polished box leather.
In August, G.H. Bass brought back the archival Sportocasin in a new collaboration with golf brand Metalwood Studio. Discontinued in 1990, the silhouette was originally worn by Bobby Jones during golf’s golden era in the 1920s and throughout his historic Grand Slam campaign.
In May, Bass and Buck Mason restocked their collaborative black Larson Loafer alongside a new brown colorway. In April, the footwear brand teamed up with Aritzia on a new shoe collection. For this tie-up the duo took on the classic penny loafer and offered it in two distinct styles, the Milton and the Spence.
